Hello I’m back!! It’s been a while, and I have read a lot of books since my last post. It feels so weird to be writing another book review here again. But here we go:
This book was so hilarious. The dialogue was almost certainly the best part — I was laughing my head off all the way through. All the characters had wonderfully creative insults and their banter cheered me up every time I read it.
This aforementioned banter worked perfectly well alongside the political and historical aspects of the novel. Although I don’t know too much about the Arthurian legends, I found it really interesting to read about how interwoven they were into the politics of the world in which this book was set.
Ok. Time to talk about Lady Bridget Leclair: no wonder Gwen was in love with her. Please. She’s the most badass character ever. She’s also really fucking hot. Damn. She’s going on my “characters I find hot” slideshow. Women wielding swords >>>>>
I loved how this book contained so many of the romance tropes that people obsess over. Usually I’m not that into them, but they were done so well in this book! I think the author tried to cram as many tropes into the novel as they could, and it actually worked. Maybe it was because of the fact that the setting was unique or maybe because I liked the characters a lot.
Overall, this book was really fun to read!! I’d really recommend it if you’re looking for a lighthearted YA book to read.
