The Hate U Give - Book Review

This is the second book I have finished... *checks time, it's 11:52pm* ...today.
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas.
Of course, it's important. Of course, it's amazing.
For the people who have not yet experienced this awesome and amazing book, let me tell you that you should read it very very soon. It was published in 2017, but is super relevant to the Black Lives Matter protests in 2020. To be honest, all my life I have not been exposed to the topics that are explored in this book. It was really important for me to read this book, because it helped to increase my levels of awareness about certain topics.
Some of the things that people said or did in this novel were horrible. I think I may have even added some characters to my mental "meanest characters" list. Racism is so stupid. I don't even have the brain power at the moment to even try to think of another word to describe it. The Hate U Give has made me even more desperate to go out to everyone who is suffering and to just give them a hug. And be their friend. And hug them more. I dunno, sometimes I get this urge to do that.
Anyway. I have to go write another book review, which is confusing because I finished the other book first so I'm setting the post for that one to be published before this one.

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas, 14+*

*This age recommendation is only my opinion. Some younger people might feel comfortable reading this book, and some older people might not. That's fine, either way. Warning for lots of swearing used casually, kinda gory scenes, scary scenes, sexual references and upsetting comments made by mean characters in this book.
