The Cruel Prince - Book Review

Yes, I'm back! And I'm about to review a book I finished a couple of weeks ago (yes, I know, I'm not blogging well...) which is The Cruel Prince by Holly Black!

With life and everything going on, I didn't have much opportunity to read. So The Cruel Prince ended up being one of those books that I took months to read. And I feel like the experience could have been so much better if I had read it quicker... it's sad. Especially since it's supposed to be a great book.

But, what can I say, this book is very twisty! Like, some of the plot twists caught me very off guard. However, I had a spoiler that actually ruined one of the twists for me, and the spoiler was only the fact that I had heard what the "trope" was. In fact, the spoiler was very hard to avoid since The Cruel Prince is a very famous book containing the trope.

But, anyway, one of my friends is a huge fan of the series, and I'm hoping to get more invested in it because I love the world. It shares many similarities with Cassandra Clare's faerie world, and I loved how the book was dedicated to Cassandra Clare, too! (Yes I love TMI, TID, TDA, TFTSA, TBC, GOTSM and TEC. I haven't read TLH yet, because I prefer to wait until the whole series is out before starting... but don't get me started on Cassandra Clare's amazingness! And, no, some of those acronyms probably don't exist).

Anyway, wish me luck as I continue the series! And as one of my friends said when he saw the book's cover: "That's one good-looking book..."

The Cruel Prince by Holly Black, 13+*

*This age recommendation is only my opinion. Some younger people might feel comfortable reading this book, and some older people might not. That's fine, either way. Warning for potentially upsetting scenes/themes, drug-type stuff, sexual references, much sudden and intense violence/murder, weird kissing stuff, some kinda scary scenes and some swearing.
