Fire Light - Book Review

This review contains spoilers for Fire Light and the rest of the Red Queen series.
So many novellas! But I’m pretty sure this is the last one, since Fare Well is considered a “bonus scene” rather than a novella.
I think this novella was really necessary. I’m kind of glad that it cleared up the relationship between Mare and Cal because at the end of War Storm it was kind of sad that Cal and Mare didn’t know how to feel about one another. Actually I have mixed feelings about it. Obviously Mare doesn’t need Cal and vice versa, but I think it was good to get a more definite answer about whether or not they actually liked each other after all that happened.
It was really sad to read about how both Cal and Mare missed Maven and even regretted killing him. When Cal said that he went to Maven first, when they found Mare and Maven at the end of War Storm, that was heartbreaking. But at the same time, I’m kinda glad that happened. I don’t know why, but I think it’s a way to show that romantic love isn’t the most important or prominent type of love.
The fact that Evangeline is Mare’s body guard is kind of hilarious. And the way that Made found out was also pretty funny. I think that Evangeline has a good sense of humour, although it may be overlooked.
Also, “I’ll see you around?” “Yes, I’m around.” That was so funny to me and I don’t know why. It was also kind of relatable. When I talk to basically anyone, there are no guarantees that I will say something that is on any way relevant or that makes sense.
The fact that Julian and Sara are getting married! Yess! I’m so happy for them!
Anyway, I don’t have much else to say. I wanna read Fare Well today too, and as I type it’s 4:25pm so I don’t have too much time left. Luckily for me it seems that Fare Well is less that twenty pages long. I’m kinda disappointed at myself because I haven’t read that much this school holidays… but I won’t rant about that.

*This age recommendation is only my opinion. Some younger people might feel comfortable reading this book, and some older people might not. That's fine, either way. Warning for weird kissing stuff, and some potentially upsetting themes.
