My best friend recommended this book to me. I don't know how she kept quiet about the ending. But this book had a very sad ending.
I was actually at Dymocks today (gtryfwheduj I made some stupid decisions, there was a book I wanted but for some reason it cost $30, so I DIDN'T BUY IT. Why must I be so stupid?!?!) and I saw this person pick up As Happy As Here. Being me, the shy and awkward weirdo fangirl, I just silently smiled to myself while I internally cried over the fact that some of the books I wanted weren't there and that I only had enough money for two books and that Dymocks is so expensive. But, guess what? THE PERSON PUT As Happy As Here BACK. Such a missed opportunity for sadness.
When I looked up at the book on the shelf, I smiled at the illustration of Jemma on the spine while probably being judged by the "normal" people around me. Oh. Then later I was judging the new Divergent covers, then I stepped back and stepped on this person who was on the floor behind me looking at the graphic novels. And I also acted awkward around this person who seemed to be a fellow bookworm... we were both just standing there admiring the bookshelves. Or at least, that's what I was doing...
As Happy As Here by Jane Godwin, 11+*
*This age recommendation is only my opinion. Some younger people might feel comfortable reading this book, and some older people might not. That's fine, either way. Warning for potentially upsetting and sad scenes/themes.
