“Do you even know how to make a flower crown?” Evan said.
“No…” Connor pulled out his phone, “but Google was invented for a reason.”
Evan and Connor sat down. Soon enough, they both had elaborately woven rings of flowers. Connor placed his flawless crown on Evan’s head. Evan lifted his flower crown, which was falling apart, to Connor’s head.
Connor laughed. “How have the flowers already died, Evan?”
“You’re better at making flower crowns than me, ok?” he sighed. “And you had a better view of the instructions anyway.”
“Yeah, but I’m just naturally good at it!” Connor teased.
“Has Zoe ever taught you, though?” Evan asked, instantly regretting mentioning Connor’s sister.
“No…” Connor whispered, “I think she hates me.”
Evan playfully slapped Connor. “No she doesn’t!”
Connor rolled his eyes, not bothering to argue back. The limp flower crown hung from his head. He smiled.
“Evan, my little princess!” he squeaked. Evan’s face, after just having calmed down, flushed bright red again. It melted Connor’s heart.
