This booooooooook. I don't usually cry at the end of or during books but I came so close after reading this. Like, my eyes had tears in them but the tears just didn't fall. The way it was written demonstrated how different the two main characters were so different but were still united. Also, I loved the little stories from other people's perspectives, that kind weaved into Mateo and Rufus' story.
Also, the way that Adam Silvera wrote the two boys' deaths, like their final sentences from their perspective before they died, that was sad. There were a few kinda hauntingly tragic scenes.
I finished most of this book in one day. It was really gripping. I was very invested in it. When I was a couple chapters away from the end of the book, my brother asked me to watch High School Musical 3 with him and it kinda ruined the mood. But oh well.
I would definitely recommend this book. It's really popular so, whoever you imaginary blog readers are, you have probably heard of or read it before. It made me consider lots of things more deeply and I accidentally thought a couple times, no, you can't finish this book coz then you'll die.
The world is very creative and it surprised me that it was set in 2017. I was expecting it to be set in the future. But it was still so amazing!!
They Both Die At The End by Adam Silvera, 13+*
*This age recommendation is only my opinion. Some younger people might feel comfortable reading this book, and some older people might not. That's fine, either way. Warning for lots of upsetting themes, sexual references, a bit of kissing stuff, violence and lots of swearing.
