For some reason I am pretty attached to this book. Probably because I took so long to read it (aka I read it slowly. One chapter for each weekday really adds up and means that reading takes a while. Literally it took me a month which is kinda embarrassing but in my defense I had exams and shit.) and because I was "holding it hostage" (as my friend said) through my digital library. My loan ended and somehow I managed to keep the tab open and therefore (likely illegally) keep reading the book.
I had heard that the ending of the book was sad. It was, but not that sad. I thought it was gonna be the last chapter or something that was sad, but I read over the sad part without realising it was the sad part.
SORSCHA!!!
I liked Dorian and Sorscha's relationship. It was very pure. Until Sarah J Maas did her killing thing.
At the start of the book when I met Rowan, I was like, THIS? Is Rowan? because I had unfortunately gotten a spoiler about his and Celaena's relationship. I didn't really ship them at first because I was like CELAENA AND CHAOL FOR LIFE but now I disagree with my previous opinion and ship Rowan and Celaena. ROWAN IS SO NICE THOUGH I love how like he has a soft spot for Aelin/Celaena. LIKE HE BROUGHT HER SOUP AND STUFF AWWWWWWWWWWW.
I must say though, and I dunno whether this was just coz I was reading slow, but the beginning of the book was pretty slow and dare I say boring-ish. But it did get better!! There were heaps of different perspectives too, I think this was hard-ish to get used to/keep up with since I was used to most people being close together locationwise in this series.
Anyway. I'm super excited to keep reading this series and also a bit terrified because I'm already like halfway through. But super excited especially since this series has a big fandom.
Ok seriously gotta go. Brother is saying he can't get to sleep coz he scared of cockroaches and he wants to sleep in my bed again tonight (he did last night). He can't know I stay upppp.
Heir of Fire by Sarah J Maas, 13+*
*This age recommendation is only my opinion. Some younger people might feel comfortable reading this book, and some older people might not. That's fine, either way. Warning for potentially upsetting themes, weird kissing stuff and worse, lots of violence, lots of gore, fantasy-type disturbing stuff, sexual references/themes and probably a bit of swearing.
