I AM SILENTLY SCREAMING AND MY DOG IS CONFUSED. I AM SWEATING AND SHAKING. I NOW UNDERSTAND THE HYPE.
THE CHARACTERS THE CHARACTERS THE CHARACTERS. I REALLY LIKE THEM. JESPER+WYLAN=GOD BY THE WAY.
(Spoilers)
I DON’T KNOW HOW OR WHERE TO START. SO I AM JUST GOING TO THROW RANDOM WORDS ONTO THIS PAGE.
Why can’t I remember most of what happened in this book now ;-;…
I knew Matthias was gonna die because some rando left a comment on some random thing online. I genuinely thought I was gonna cry a lot but I didn’t!! I dunno whether that’s an achievement or not. Whyyy do the saddest character deaths always get spoiled for meee?
The endinggggg. With Inej’s parentsssss and KAZZZZZ. At first I didn’t really understand why everyone loved Kaz because honestly not that many chapters were from his perspective at times, but he just gives off good vibes. I wouldn’t say he’s my favourite character though. But he is cool.
I really enjoyed reading about all the plots that they did, like they’re really smart and I liked how everyone came together. Kaz’s brain puts me to shame.
Ok so the part where Jesper kissed Kuwei instead of Wylan now takes the place of the most embarrassing moment of my life. At first I was really excited and was like “MY SHIP HAS SAILED” (is that an expression?) but I knew something was off, I was like “um is this Kuwei?” But when he kissed him I was like “NEVER MIND I WANTED JESPER AND WYLAN TO KISS” then it kinda went down hill from there. But I’m glad they finally did ~actually~ kiss and I just ship them so much awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
Also I’m reallly glad I read Shadow and Bone before this. It was so cool to see Zoya, Genya and Nikolai — I mean Sturmhond — in this book. I was very pleased that I knew stuff that the characters didn’t. Hehehehe.
Yeah so I’m kinda speechless. I can’t believe it’s over (though apparently another book is getting released in like 2023 or something?).
Yeah so I will probably just keep randomly coming back to this post a bunch of times to add stuff because my brain can’t function right now because I FINISHED AAAAAHHHHH. Also this is the first book I’ve rated five stars in a while.
Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo, 14+* ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
*This age recommendation is only my opinion. Some younger people might feel comfortable reading this book, and some older people might not. That's fine, either way. Warning for many potentially upsetting themes (and discussions and flashbacks of trauma), weird kissing stuff, violence, lots of gore, sexual references/themes and swearing.
