Ok this book was noticeably better than Heir of Fire, in my opinion. Maybe it was the way I was reading it but whatever. This review contains spoilers. Also I can't be bothered to check spellings right now because I'm at school so forgive me if I spell anything wrong IT'S A FANTASY BOOK FORGIVE ME.
I ship the ships!!! Rowan and Aelin = ❤❤❤
Also the end of the book was so amazing, like so final (even though there's still three books in the series) and it finally feels peaceful -- for the first time in the series!
I saw heaps of character development in this book (I think that's what it's called...?). I used to be annoyed by Lysandra but now I REALLY LIKE HER. She is such a good character. I also like Rowan a lot more now that I've "got to know his character" more now. I have also started to really like Manon. And as always, ABRAXOS!!! He is like a little golden retriever puppy and he reminds me of Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon? No? Just me?
I am super excited for the rest of the series. Oh and also very happy that Arobynn is dead. LYSANDRA FOR THE WINNNNNNNNNN oh and also I love ghost leopards now.
Also I'm very happy that Dorian is back. Don't come at me but I kinda ship Chaol and Dorian hehehe. But somehow Sarah J Maas doesn't seem like the type of author to have non-straight main couples... so let's just call it platonic love.
MAGIC IS FREEEEE, AELIN IS IN TERRASENNNNN WOOOOOOOO. This peace will not last for long. Pray for me as I start Tower of Dawn.
Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas, 13+* ★★★3/4
*This age recommendation is only my opinion. Some younger people might feel comfortable reading this book, and some older people might not. That's fine, either way. Warning for potentially upsetting themes, weird kissing stuff and worse, lots of violence, lots of gore, fantasy-type disturbing stuff, sexual references/themes and swearing.
