World Behind - Book Review

This review contains spoilers for World Behind and the Red Queen series.
So this was a novella so I read it pretty quickly since it was super short. But I enjoyed it!
It was cool to see some other characters in the same world of the Red Queen series. One thing I enjoyed about this novella was that the characters seemed super chill about the multiple wars occurring around them. I found it funny that most of the characters were clueless towards things that the Red Queen series was about. Like “who’s Mare Barrow?” For some reason I found that funny.
Jem — one of the passengers on the boat — had been a servant who assisted Mare during the events of King’s Cage, I believe. Though Mare never actually saw her, I think it was nice that there’s a face that goes with the servants, you know?
Ashe seemed like a cool character. It’d be interesting to learn more about him, though I’m fairly certain I won’t. Oh well. He has a cool name, though I’d have no idea how to pronounce it.
Lyrisa criticising how men have a low regard for women’s lives was very relatable. Hehe.
While reading this I had an urge to watch a Pirates of the Caribbean movie. It kinda gave off those vibes? Kinda? Alas, I cannot.
So yeah, this novella was pretty good! The ending was very cool. Lyrisa was like “I’m dead… haha wait I’m not.” And I liked how it was open-ended.
