Maybe In Another Life - Book Review

So I decided to read this book because the author wrote a book I liked. Also because this BookTuber said it was good and I thought it was an interesting concept. I did not, however, realise it was a romance book. Oh gosh. I have now learnt my lesson to check what genre books are before I read them. I had been saying that I would read a romance book just for the laughs and, oh dear, I will definitely be looking back and laughing at myself for reading this book.
In my opinion the start was pretty slow and hard to get into. It was just people doing random stuff. In my opinion there was minimal plot until at least 1/3 of the way through the plot.
In my opinion the point of a romance book should be to witness the characters falling in love. However in this book we didn't even see that -- it was just Hannah pining for her love interests then jumping to them getting their ✨happily ever after✨ (by the way I use sparkles ironically).
I guess this sounds kinda harsh, but I'm not sure whether or not this book was well-written. Like, the other book by Taylor Jenkins Reid that I read was very well-written but this one not so much. I personally thought it was a bit flat and it didn't impact me or make me feel emotional or anything. I'm pretty sure Maybe In Another Life was meant to be a meaningful book but it wasn't really meaningful to me.
On a positive note though, it was very good to have a disabled character in this book! Yayyy. And also I really enjoyed the friendship aspects of this book. And the dog. Charlemagne is actually such a good name for a dog.
So that is it for this review. Time for me to decide whether to write a post explaining what the heck the poem I just published was about, or to watch a movie, or to do uni work. Sleep was never an option.

Maybe In Another Life by Taylor Jenkins Reid, 13+* ★★

*This age recommendation is only my opinion. Some younger people might feel comfortable reading this book, and some older people might not. That's fine, either way. Warning for sexual references, adultery, car crashes, loss of a baby, hospitals and potentially upsetting themes.
