Queen Song - Book Review

Warning for spoilers for Red Queen and Queen Song in this review.
So my books finally came in the mail. Yay. Anyway. This was a good novella, it was written in a style that was poetic and I liked the third-person for a change.
I think that it was actually quite sad. Seeing Tiberius (Cal and Maven's dad, I mean) as a young prince was kinda sad, especially since he became so corrupt and just like all the other kings in the end. I liked him as a character in Queen Song, but then I realised that he was still the same guy from Red Queen, and was sad. He's dead now, so oh wellll.
The diary thing with Coriane was also sad. You could really see her spiral into utter paranoia. She actually seemed like a good person.
Yeah. As this novella wasn't that long, I don't have that much to say.
Oh. But the ending. That was very sad but well-written and also I liked how kinda open-ended it was. I didn't know I could hate Elara more than I already did after reading Red Queen, but here we are.
Speaking of Red Queen, I am going to use this space to briefly rant about what happened in RQ. I couldn't rant in my review for the actual book because it was meant to be spoiler-free, so turn back now if you don't want the plot twist in Red Queen spoiled for you. Here we go:
MAVEN. I ACTUALLY LIKED HIM. HE WAS SO NICE BUT THAT WAS ALL AN ACT? I ACTUALLY LIKED HIM AND POSSIBLY MORE THAN CAL, UNTIL HE REVEALED HE WAS EVIL. I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN. THE NAME "MAVEN" IS LIKE A MALE VERSION OF "MAEVE" (that's from a different series by the way). I THINK I'M ONLY JUST RECOVERING. HE REALLY IS HIS MUM'S SON. GRTYWEUIGTRAG.
Ok I have like five assessments to do, including a math exam tomorrow. I need to stop procrastinating. So I will leave this review here. Bye.

*This age recommendation is only my opinion. Some younger people might feel comfortable reading this book, and some older people might not. That's fine, either way. Warning for potentially upsetting themes, and a tiny bit of gore/violence.
